Arch. Kamau Njendu has a total of 45 years experience in the Public and Private Sector. He started of working with Government of Kenya and further served for 10 years with Municipal Council of Mombasa. He was the First African Chief Architect in Mombasa and is currently a Fellow of the Architectural Association of Kenya ( the highest national recognition of Architects) and a Fellow of the Kenya Institute of Management. He founded Gitutho Associates in 1983. He has extensive experience in building design of all genres and formidable Project Management experience.
As Principal of Gitutho Associates, Mr. Njendu has been involved in large projects a number of Large Scale projects from inception, design, tender process and supervision. He has been responsible for overall co-ordination and project implementation.
ARCH. MUGURE NJENDU
Director
Arch. Mugure Njendu has a total of 14 years working experience within the industry. She has a diverse profile of projects having worked in different scales in Boston and Miami in the United States. She joined Gitutho Associates in 2006 as an Associate and rose to be a Director in 2011 and the Managing Director of the Nairobi Office. She is both a registered Architect and an Urban Planner and currently serves on the Regulatory Authority for the industry, The Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors of Kenya
Her background consists of a number of different projects as illustrated in the Project CV as well as community service work with Architecture for Humanity and Habitat in Boston and Miami.
In the Kenyan field, Ms. Njendu has also worked on largescale projects, most notably, the planning of the Kenya Ports Authority Housing Scheme in Mombasa, design of the Kenyatta University proposed post modern library, among others.
